Range International can offer both support for training and a range of training provision services.
Range International's people include highly experienced civil and military flying instructors, skilled in training needs analysis and the design and management of training programmes.
Provision of Training to Aircrews
Tanker crews and receiver aircraft crews
A receiver aircraft crew does not require the same level of training in aerial refuelling as a tanker crew.
For receiver aircraft operators, we envisage that qualification will only be required by a small number of senior captains, many of whom will already have military refuelling experience.
Full tanker crews will need to be trained, including the boom operator. As the aircraft and procedures are likely to be privately owned military types, we propose to adopt a similar training programme. Currently, all NATO military crews (both tanker and receiver aircraft) receive standardised training developed over many years, and we see no reason to change the basic, proven procedures.
Civilian tanker and receiver aircrew could therefore be recruited as they leave the military.
Range International can provide a suitable syllabus (ground instruction, simulators and airborne training) and approved training aids, as well as providing approved standard operating procedures.
Provision of Qualified Aircrews
Agency aircrew
Range International is also able to provide qualified aircrews on a temporary or contract basis for daily replacement of sick personnel or for longer periods of secondment.
A tanker qualified aircrew pilot can be viewed in a similar way to a maritime ship's pilot, where the captain retains command under the guidance of the "pilot"
We are also able to provide approved instructors for live continuation training or re-categorisation of crew.
Range International is a professional consultancy group of leading aviation experts. We propose to introduce proven aerial refuelling techniques into commercial aviation.
